Community Building through Art and Music

Deep healing and connection can be made through the process of sharing and witnessing each others’ creation and expression. Co-creation with crafts, art and music are one of the earliest forms of circle and community building. It can be a space of catharsis for grief and joy, play and vulnerability, power and hope.

I will guide the circle through the facilitation of one or multiple art practices: music, voice, songwriting, sound, poetry, crafts, games, improvisation, drawing, movement and/or other expressive arts based on your group’s needs and interests.

This can be done in many different ways to hold a number of themes.

Some in the past have included:

Building deeper relationships, celebrations, SWANA affinity group, multi-racial healing group, grief, healing trauma, safe outside the system, Black Indigineous Womxn, Girls & Femmes Of Color circle, Music and Freedom circle with incarcerated women, songwriting with incarcerated people, music improvisation for creativity and healing, radical visioning, mental health, healing shame wounds, reclaiming our voices, belonging and ancestry affinity groups, and land stewardship.
